Ok then, let's head on inside the shop and see what's going on in there.
It's nothing in the world like what you might expect an automotive repair shop to look like.
Repair shops bring to mind dark grimy places filled with no end of ugly parts and tools, utilitarian in the extreme.
But not Mark's place. Oh it's utilitarian alright, but it's certainly not dark, nor grimy, nor ugly. Instead, it is a cacophony of vibrant shapes and colors. Form and function all mixed up together. No end of strange and wonderful objects can be found everywhere you look, and each is valid for its own reasons and makes no apology to anyone. A casual glance might give you to believe that it's all been more or less tossed in there any old whichaway, but this is manifestly not the case. Every last bit of it is right where it belongs. It's all in a place where it can do the most good, whether by being easy to get to, or by being out of the way if it's something that only needs to be tended to once in a while. Whether by being useful in the extreme, or by being whimsical in the extreme. It's all good, and it's all here.
This is another one of those places where life is lived, and lived to the fullest. Self-evidently and unrestrainedly.
Not your typical shop |
And what might be lurking beneath the shroud there?
The whole place is quite light and airy |
Mark's Karmann-Ghia gets 1st Place every single time |
Mark's Karmann-Ghia is a fucking headhunter
So ok.
So he's very good at what he does, hmm?
Yes. Yes he is.
But there's more.
Lot's more.
And it's all just as cool as hell.
Every last bit of it.
People give him stuff.
People make him stuff.
And he keeps it.
Check this shit out, wouldja?
This is a good phone number, by the way, ok? |
The shop itself is possessed of a world of wonderful whimsical symmetries, both broken and preserved, and they're all a delight to encounter. Have a look on the next page, ok?
